three name tiers
- "clover" in public. this is likely what you should call me. this is my actual name.
- “chloe” for my friends. if it was up to me i would’ve hidden this but i started at chloe for everyone so backtracking this into a private thing. but it’s known. and while it is also my name it won’t feel genuine to me and it will feel like you are trying to fake being a friend.
- secret third name for close friends. whenever someone calls me by it, i smile a lot and it’s really nice. the problem is many people don’t actually use it as their go to. the people alternate between it and chloe.
sometimes i introduce myself to people as “clover but you can call me chloe for short”, which is funny to me because while verbally it sounds like you’re chaning the ‘ver’ to a ‘y’ to the end, the textual change on those two words is almost the entire word.

i like it and the internet wayback machine is great.
